I've recently become more and more obsessed with the complete vixen that is Moira Stuart. She has been on our tv screens since we were little and now she reads the news on radio 2's breakfast show with Chris Evans and for the 1st time I feel like I'm getting a true glimpse into the real Moira.
This morning she chose Purple Haze by Jimi Hendrix. love it!
nooo way!!! i have a signed photo from her when i was 7 i wrote in as there was a news article about a kangaroo escaping the zoo- and i wrote in asking why did the camera man just film the kangeroo instead of trying to catch him...

ReplyDeleteMoira Stuart is a BBC institution, remember her fondly on the 6 O'Clock news all the time I was growing up. Now on the morning show with Chris, hear them most days on the way to work. Very much the 'elder stateswoman' of BBC news reading; rightfully, humourously, and respectfully revered by Chris on the morning show. Good stuff. Thanks Moira!
ReplyDeleteThere was a brillliant skit that Morecombe and Wise did with Moira Stuart. There was some silly joking about what she wore below the waist because everyone always saw her at her desk. So she is on the show presenting from behind a desk and then the music starts and the desk separates in the middle and out she steps. Spectacular legs encased in a lovey high split dress. And of course Eric Morecombe and Ernie Wise for the laughs.
